Runway one at Liszt Ferenc Airport will be handed over to runners for half of this Saturday to raise money for charity. The unusual event will be a joint venture of the airport and Nike. The 12-kilometre run is invitational and the 600 participants include local celebrities and members of the media. At last year’s inaugural event more than 250 runners raised HUF 2 million, which went to support sports activities of college students in need. The Runway Run is not unique to the Hungarian capital, with such charity runs also held at Toronto Pearson, Columbia Metropolitan and New York City’s JFK airports.
