Slow food takes its courseThe history of the Peccati di Gola Restaurant is somewhat confusing: once it was home to the legendary Café Károlyi, before a Greek bought the rooms, who since last October has been letting them to an Italian. The latter’s main job is as the managing director of a pasta factory, and running a restaurant is just a sideline. A visit to the restaurant between Ferenciek tere and Kálvin tér, however, is aÂ rather time-consuming affair.
It’s Sunday on any dayIt is clear how you could associate this restaurant’s location on a small peninsula with the solitary and primitive life of the castaway Robinson Crusoe. But a first-class restaurant like this by the lake in the City Park really does not deserve such a name.
Three colours: OrangeEven cultural elitists have to admit now and again that pop has a right to exist. Mandarin in Ó utca is the right place for such moments. As a bar and restaurant this establishment combines everything that is young, bright and superficial. But it simply feels good to spend time here.
