Hungary’s loss making national airline Malév should save some HUF 6 billion (EUR 22.49 million) following a package of job cuts and streamlining measures, CEO Martin Gauss told the state news agency MTI last Thursday. Between 300 and 400 jobs will be axed, bringing the workforce down to around 1,000, excluding outsourced labour, Gauss indicated. The airline has already shed 200 workers since 2008. The director noted that the European Union has yet to approve the government’s acquisition of a 95 per cent stake in Malév. Add as favourites (55) | Views: 800
